Corsage and buttonhole workshop

More than flowers... Creating something special for Prom

One of the things I love most about floristry is creating opportunities for people to connect with flowers in a meaningful and memorable way. Flowers have a wonderful ability to mark life’s milestones, tell stories, and help us celebrate moments that deserve to be remembered.

Recently, after attending specialist training in floral wearables (with the amazing @passionflowersue) I found myself inspired by the creativity and craftsmanship behind corsages and buttonholes. It sparked an idea. How lovely would it be to create something especially for school leavers preparing for one of those milestone moments… Prom.

Prom is such an exciting celebration. A chance to dress up, mark the end of a chapter, and look ahead to the next. But I also know it can become an expensive occasion for families, and I wanted to offer something that felt personal, creative, and accessible.

So, I created a Corsage and Buttonhole Workshop for school leavers.

The workshop gives young people the opportunity to design and make their own wearable flowers to complete their look. More than that, it offers the chance to learn a new skill, express creativity, and wear something completely unique that they’ve created themselves.

As a fairly new business based at home in Newbridge, opportunities like this feel especially meaningful. Building Polly Bunson Floral Storyteller has always been about creating beautiful florals with purpose and helping people celebrate life’s important moments in a way that feels personal.

I can’t wait to welcome this year’s Prom makers and see the creativity they bring to their designs.
