My Story
Welcome to Polly Bunson Floral Storyteller and thank you for wanting to find out more about me and my journey so far.
A name with heart
The name Polly Bunson is rooted in love, family, and imagination. Polly was my childhood nickname, full of playfulness and curiosity. Bunsen comes from my husband’s nickname, bringing warmth and strength. Add son for our boy, the brightest light of all. It’s a name that holds meaning, just like the flowers I create.
My road to floristry
As I approached my 50th milestone, life was full - a wonderful family, treasured friendships, and a career that kept me busy. I spent 30 years working in marketing - advertising, events and communications, a creative career I loved. But something shifted, and a quiet longing for change began to grow.
Celebrations have always been my happy place. Friends know me for bunting, florals, and tablescapes layered with love. I can happily lose hours sourcing flowers, tableware, and details that turn gatherings into memories.
I'd often asked myself: If I could start again, what would I do? Something creative. Something hands-on. Something far removed from Dolly Parton’s 9-to-5. Then an opportunity appeared. It felt scary, but with my family's encouragement, I took the leap, and just like that, a new chapter began… one told through flowers.
Always that little bit extra
Thoughtful gifting has always come naturally to me. I love sourcing meaningful details, building themes, and creating moments that feel personal and considered. That instinct comes from my own love of beautiful things and the unforgettable gifts I’ve been lucky enough to receive over the years - chosen with care and intention.
