I created this story and bouquet for my sister-in-law on behalf of a family friend. They had lots of memories to share and we captured them and my sister-in-laws character beautifully.

Floral storytelling
Bright as a Gerbera
Some flowers sit quietly in a bouquet.
And then there’s the gerbera, bright, open and full of life.
The kind of flower that smiles back at you.
Petite yet striking, joyful yet effortless, it carries a
cheerful energy that lifts every stem around it.
You always notice a gerbera.
It brings colour, warmth and a little bit of playful spirit wherever it appears.
The sort of bloom that belongs to celebration, laughter and dancing.
The gerbera is the flower of happiness, of friendship, of gatherings that stretch from childhood memories to wedding dance floors. It belongs in Easter holidays and fancy dress at New Year’s Eve. In sleepovers and late-night films that felt far too grown-up at the time. In silly hats and dancing to Amarillo the night before a wedding. And in the pure joy of watching two people dance their way through a Grease medley surrounded by loved ones.
A gerbera is a bundle of energy, the life of the party,
(though sometimes it quietly folds its petals around 9pm).
But most of all, it carries something special; a bright, contagious warmth.
The kind of bloom that lights up a room simply by being there.
You can’t help but smile when you see one.
And like the very best gerberas, people like you bring
joy wherever they grow.
Flower selection and symbolism
Together, these flowers tell the story of a bright and joyful spirit.
Gerberas sit at the heart of the story. Bold in yellow, orange and red, they symbolise happiness, celebration and that wonderfully contagious smile that makes everyone around them feel lighter.
The ranunculus add their many layered petals, represent the years of shared memories.
Alstroemeria is the flower of friendship and loyalty, reflecting the deep and enduring bonds.
The striking blue iris stands tall within the bouquet, symbolising admiration and joyful celebration.
Clouds of limonium weave softly between the blooms, representing lasting memories.
The playful bells of lepidium green bell bring a lighthearted note, a reminder of the laughter, silly hats and dancing that have always been part of the story.
Finally, the fresh eucalyptus and pittosporum wrap gently around the bouquet, symbolising warmth, care and the comforting presence of someone who lights upevery room she enters.
