My January flower drop marked the fourth chapter of The Flower Chronicles — a monthly bouquet designed to tell a story through seasonal flowers, created to bring light into homes or be gifted to someone truly special.

Floral storytelling
January’s packing up her chill,
the frost still sparkles on the hill.
Here comes February, bright and clear,
a fresh new smile, a brand new year!
Astromeria waves hello,
Gerbera says, “It’s time to glow!”
Roses blush with love to spare,
and Sangriosa scents the air.
So open windows, chase the blue,
buy some blooms, just a few will do!
Take a walk, share a grin,
let the kindness ripple in.
The world’s awake, the days are wide,
and joy’s a seed you plant inside.
So care for others, care for you,
each little act makes dreams come true.
Step into February, heart alight,
the year is yours — go shine it bright!
Flower selection and symbolism
Together, these flowers tell a January story of quiet hope, emotional depth and gentle joy. Wild yet thoughtful, soft yet strong.
Rose ‘Solero’ ~ a timeless symbol of joy, friendship and hope.
In January, Solero roses feel like captured sunlight, reminding
us that brighter days are returning, even if slowly.
Sanganguisorba officinalis ~ represents depth of feeling,
love and quiet strength. Honouring the heart, connection and resilience that carry us through winter’s quieter months.
Asparagus ‘Cwebe’ ~ symbolises endurance, protection and renewal.
Its soft, feathery movement brings wild, natural rhythm
to the bouquet, reflecting growth beneath the surface
and the steady promise of what’s to come.
Germini Micro ‘Quick’ ~ symbolise gentle happiness, affection
and warmth. Their cheerful faces represent the small moments
of joy that brighten everyday life, and kindness is always within reach.
Alstroemeria ‘Fashionista Sofiena’ ~ the flower of friendship, devotion and mutual support. Signify meaningful connections, standing together, supporting one another, and moving forward with care.
